School Saving Schemes

At Naas Credit Union we think Saving is a very important life skill. We have partnered with a number of local primary schools to run a schools Savings Scheme.

The benefits of teaching your children about money early on are both immediate and long term. In the short term, they may develop strong saving habits, learn how to make smart purchases and learn why they can't immediately get everything they want. In the long term, you can help them avoid getting into debt. And by teaching the value of saving for the future, you can put them on the road to financial security.

Saving In association with your child’s school, gives the kids the opportunity to save in the school on a regular basis.

In addition, the school benefits from our Double Dividend scheme where we pay a bonus on the amount saved within the school. The minimum payment to the school is €500 with a maximum benefit of €2500 depending on contributions of the children made within the school savings scheme.

At present a scheme operates in the following schools;

  • Sallins National School;
  • An Linbh Iosa, Ballycane;
  • Scoil Bhride, Oldtown, Naas;
  • Killashee Multidenominational School
